With the price of air travel rising so fast it’s even more important now than ever to be able to search for and find dirt cheap airline tickets. By doing some easy homework you can save yourself hundreds of dollars each and every time you fly.
There’s little difference between experienced world travelers and occasional holiday seekers when it comes to saving money. Both groups want to travel as cheaply as possible and honestly your vacation or holiday will be much more enjoyable if you put more money in your own pocket by saving on the airfare.
Maybe you don’t really worry about the cost of your air tickets when you travel, but who among us doesn’t like to find a bargain and save cash. Personally I would rather keep the money in my bank account as opposed to handing it over to the airlines.
If you want to find ways to save on your airfare you’ll be glad to know that these days it’s easy to find dirt cheap airline tickets for most destinations with just a little bit of research online. If you’re a regular traveler these cheap tickets could add up to substantial savings over the year. Even if you’re just looking for tickets for one trip you’ll be glad to have more money to spend once you reach your destination. By learning how and where to find dirt cheap tickets we all win!
One thing you can do to get cheap ticket prices is to keep track of the prices to see what the trends are. You can do this through Farecast for U.S. flights. There are almost always certain days of the week that are cheaper to fly than others and with a bit of flexibility you can take advantage of this.
Another way to find bargain tickets is to subscribe to travel agency and airline newsletters. In some cases they will release special fares only for their newsletter subscribers. You can also call the airlines directly to see if they have unpublished special fares.
If you can tap into the knowledge of any frequent and experienced travelers you can usually get some good tips on how to get cheap airline tickets as well. These folks often learn their own special tricks for getting bargains.
When booking your flight don’t be afraid to ask about the lowest possible fares or any specials, you may be surprised. Also consider package deals that include both airfare and hotels as these packages can sometimes offer a substantial savings. In some cases your airfare will be almost free with a package deal, especially in tourist areas that are suffering lack of visitors.
There are many ways for finding dirt cheap airline tickets and the above highlight just some of them. In most cases you should be able to save a pretty substantial amount of money by doing a little bit of extra work.

All by themselves, the museums and the zoo could keep you going for several days.

You can\’t eat for free, but you can get a hotdog and a soda from a street vendor on the mall for only a few dollars. The National Park Service operates a few refreshment stands, located in the front of various memorials and museums. There are museum cafes too. They are a little more expensive, but they are convenient to eat in so you don\’t have to take a cab ride or metro to a restaurant.

If you want to see tons of money but still see something in Washington DC for free, take a free tour of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing…. See stacks and stacks of money… there must be tons… and watch them make it.

Walk to the Willard InterContinental Hotel. It\’s a landmark hotel having been on the Washington DC scene since 1850, and it\’s just two blocks from the White House. Sit in the lobby and check out the bar. It was from the “wheeling and dealing” in the lobby of this hotel that the term “lobbyist” came into being. Many historic events have taken place here; one recent one was when Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote his “I Have A Dream” speech while staying here.

It\’s easy to see historical documents in Washington DC for free… the original Declaration of Independence, the U.S.Constitution and the Bill of Rights are all free to see in the National Archives.

See the Library of Congress. An hour long free tour will let you view the Main Reading Room with it\’s soaring dome, the marble columns, and circle of wooden reading desks.

Visit Arlington National Cemetery. See President John F. Kennedy\’s grave site and the Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

All sessions at the Supreme Court building are open to the public and are free. You can see the courtroom even if the Justices aren\’t there.

President Lincoln was assassinated in Ford\’s Theater. The National Park Service operates a museum in the theater where you can see artifacts and look into the theater for free. If you want to see a play there, you must buy a ticket.

You can see the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for free. And an actual performance in Washington DC for free? Yes, everyday at 6 p.m. there is a performance or concert that\’s free to the public.

If you\’re into stamp collecting, or even if you\’re not, visit the National Postal Museum.

Get into the neighborhoods beyond the Mall. There are free self-guided walking trails marked with signs to tell you about these historic areas.

The National Geographic Museum at Explorers Hall is a little further out, but you can check out free exhibits that highlight research the National Geographic Society is sponsoring.

So is it a good place for tourists? It all depends on what you want, but there\’s something for almost everyone.

Downtown is where it began, and the fun continues. There are historic hotels and casinos under sleek new lights. They all glow with neon at night, and street performers come out to entertain the crowds before they dive in to the casinos. Though historic, it still rivals the Strip….

The Strip is where the mind-boggling new hotels are. It pulses with light at night. A volcano erupts, pirates fight, fountains dance. Thousands of people wander up and down the strip looking at the displays in a free-flowing, fluid party… and that\’s only from the outside. Once you enter one of the casinos, you\’ve entered a whole new world.

What about Vegas shows, and events, and nightlife? It\’s true that Las Vegas is all about the gambling, but there is so much more. Many people go to Vegas for the shows. And the shows run quite a gamut…. from classic showgirls and magicians, to legendary singers and performers, to Cirque du Soleil shows (six of them at the moment!). There are Broadway plays, big name rock concerts, and classic car shows.

This city in the desert used to be known for its all-you-can-eat buffets and cheap coffee shop breakfasts that were meant to lure and keep gamblers happy. Those are still around, but now celebrity chefs have opened restaurants in many of the hotels and casinos, making Las Vegas a culinary hotspot.

Shopping? You want shopping? You can find anything you want. Clocks that look like dice? Sure. Playing cards and T-shirts? Without a doubt, “traditional” souvenirs are available, but so is haute couture from top designers and the most prestigious jewelry and watches. Vegas is all about indulgence, whatever your budget.

You will never be bored. Not a gambler? There really is an endless array of attractions and activities. Even at the casinos. Shark Reef is a great aquarium. You can ride a roller coaster high in the sky. Watch circus acts or singing cowgirls. Visit a fine art gallery.

Golf is always an option. The city claims more than 60 golf courses… something for every skill level and budget.

You can probably see a new bride and groom almost any day in Vegas. It has become a wedding destination…. whether it is a formal affair, a theme wedding, or one of the drive-thru chapels that Vegas is known for. All the happy couple has to do is show up…. Getting a license is quick and easy, and the chapels have everything you need…. rings, flowers, wedding gowns and tuxes. Weddings take place almost around the clock.

And gambling… can\’t forget that. Any way, any time you want to gamble in Vegas, you can. From slot machines to all games of chance. The casinos even offer gaming lessons for those who want to know the rules before they try their luck.

Most will have searched for cheaper holidays online at some point in their lives since the internet became more easily available, finding the right holiday at the right price though can still be tricky.

Larger websites have now employed more people and have more affiliates working for them which therefore increases the costs of a chosen holiday which, perhaps five years ago, would have been that little bit cheaper.

Location also plays a major factor as, depending on where you travel from, extra costs such a airport tax and travel to the airport can take it´s toll. There are numerous online sites that are still able to provide a decent holidays break that does not stretch the budget and in many cases fits in neatly with all of your holiday plans.

The key to finding cheap holidays is not alwas to go for the first one that you find but to shop around in your own time and not be rushed into making a decision too early. Whether you intend on taking the family with or not, it is always best to involve them in making the choice, afterall it is their holiday too!

Many will search for holidays as part of a hobby, a good example of this would be golfing holidays or perhaps even hotels with a casino theme, although many now tend to play at online casinos there is still room for holidays with the added advantage of being able to take a bigger part than just lounging in the sun, these types of holidays believe it or not can be some the cheaper ones that you would be more likely to find on a cost versus budget scenario and one that should not be left to the last minute.

We all need a holiday at some point in our lives whether it is once a year or every two years but the main thing is that each and every option is looked into first before paying over the odds for your preferred choice of destination.

You finally received your tickets to Mexico at the cheapest price. You did it by researching and taking your time comparing and eliminating online and offline travel companies and agent one by one. You also got your desired hotel accommodation and itineraries that did not cost so much. Now, while you are packing your things and make your way to the airport, here are some of the things and necessary advises you should know before entry, upon entry, and while at the Mexico:

Before you leave, you should have with you a photo I.D. such as passport and driver’s license, your tourist card, and your proof of citizenship. Bringing a photo I.D. would save you a lot of trouble when you check in on the airport. It would make sure that your ticket and your identity match.

The tourist card is your gate pass to Mexico. It is given free of charge but should be surrendered when you leave the country. You can get it from your airline when you check-in or in the Mexican Immigration when you arrive the country. You must not lose it and must be included at your travel document. Loosing this card is not pretty good thing to happen but if it does, make sure you have copied the number. This would make the trouble a lot easier to deal with.

Proof of citizenship should be your birth certificate. If you are a married woman and posses a driver’s license of your maiden name, be sure to bring your birth certificate to match the license.

Upon arrival, go directly to the Mexican Immigration. Here, your tourist card is validated and proof of citizenship is inspected. You must sign and accomplish the customs declaration form. You should know what to declare and what are allowable to bring in the country. If you failed to declare any item that are not allowed you will be penalized.

Here are some of the allowable items you can bring; toiletries, footwear, and clothing that is in relation to your trip duration, reading material (magazine and books), used sports equipment, one VCR, one camera, one movie camera, films (up to 12 rolls), 3L of wine or alcohol (18 years up and up), 50 cigars or 400 cigarettes (18 years old and up), musical instrument, portable TV, and medicines with prescription.

While at Mexico you should obey the rules. If you plan to rent a car, there are lots of car rental companies in the country. It you are on a tight budget, rent a car before you arrive. Rental companies offer cheap rate if you reserve early. When you get involved in an accident, do not leave the place nor make any arrangements to other people. Contact your rental company for assistance. Do not argue.

Bring the right amount of money for the day. Although Mexico uses their Peso, most business establishments accept US dollars. But peso would still give you better price. Wear comfortable clothes, Mexico is typically warm during summer and a bit cold during winter. But it still depends of your location that depends on the altitude.

When dining, make sure you drink only bottled water. Wash the fruits first before eating. Peel if necessary.

When traveling by bus, take the first class rather than the second class. First class is air-conditioned with slight price difference with the second.

These are some of the things you need to know when you travel to Mexico. And to enjoy more your whole visit in the country: stay safe!

Vacations are a great way to relax, and it is possible to find a great deal whether you are on a budget or not. For those who are on a budget, there are a few sure fire ways to make traveling interesting and enjoyable while keeping a close eye on your funds. Taking time to research your destination and frugalness once you are there can combine to give you a wonderful trip that you will remember for years, even if you are still paying for it years later.

Public attractions are the key when it comes to places to go. Though it may be fun to visit amusement parks and private museums, if you want to get the most bang for your buck you should visit public attractions, such as parks. Most national, state or city museums, even the largest ones, can be visited for a reasonable price. The cost gets high when it comes to visiting the select, featured exhibits, but you can have a wonderful time sticking to the basics and paying less. Another museum trick centers on when you visit. Many museums are open for free (often with the option of making a donation) on certain days of the week. Some cities will actually have one day each week in which every government sponsored museum/attraction is opened for free. The Philadelphia Museum of Art, for example, is free on Sundays. If you do your homework well you could potentially hop from city to city, or museum to museum from day to day and spend money only for transportation, food and lodging.

If you happen to be travelling in Europe try the European Union Rail. The company offers packages that allow you to travel through a certain number of countries in a certain number of days taking as many trains as you need for one set price. If you align your travel schedule so that you are on the train overnight, you can avoid paying for lodging for the day’s activity. This is just one example of how research and preparation is the best way to finding bargains and successfully travelling on a budget. Oftentimes, public areas and landmarks have the greatest value.

Another variety of public attractions are concerts, theatre and other performing arts. City and national governments take steps to show off their cultural achievements. Due to this, cities are likely to hold major performances, exhibitions and fairs either free of charge or for such low prices that they can attract a large, diverse crowd. Also, since these events are funded by the city they tend to be well done. No city wants to look culturally out of step when the event is designed to display the cities cultural highlights and achievements.

Public parks are another great option for travelling on a budget. State parks, battlefields and early settlements are all popular and very inexpensive destinations that work for history and nature buffs alike. These destinations are great for the entire family. Outdoor activities give everybody the chance to move around and experience the area they are visiting. The Jamestown Settlement in Virginia is a good example of this. At one place you can visit a rebuilt version of the settlement filled with live actors and re-enactments of the way things were in colonial times. This attraction is labeled a living museum, and there are many like it. All of this can be seen for roughly 10-20 dollars per person, depending on age. If that is not reasonable enough, you can go a few miles down the road and visit the Historic Jamestowne National Park. This park encompasses the original colony and includes some live actors, original buildings, a small museum and archeological excavations. Not to mention walking trails and the freedom to simply enjoy the park. Entry for this park is free for anybody under the age of fifteen and so inexpensive that a seven day pass is only ten dollars. There are many parks like this around the world, which allow any traveler on a tight budget the capability to visit many beautiful places for a very low price. Lodging still can be an issue when travelling on a budget, no matter how well planned your vacation may be. If you are in Europe, try finding a hostel to stay in. Hostels may not be quite as comfortable as hotels, but they are generally cheap. This option is best for young people, who are more inclined to rough it, but you can find individuals from all walks of life at a hostel. Camping, or using an RV can also serve to keep the price down when it comes to long trips, and are better suited to accommodate a family.

With a bit of research and preparation, it can be easy to travel on a small budget. The main costs fall to transportation and lodging. Flights are expensive, and so is gas. If you plan on driving a lot, renting a fuel efficient car could keep the gas prices down enough to save you extra money. Take as much time possible to plan, and you can have a very enjoyable vacation for a very affordable price.
